For a blog or a small business website, a domain-validated (DV) certificate is enough. If you collect payments or logins and want your company name in the certificate details, choose organisation validation (OV). Extended validation (EV) suits banks, payment pages and large brands. Choose a Wildcard to cover every subdomain, or Multi-Domain for several different domains.

All three encrypt your site the same way. DV only proves you control the domain and is usually issued within minutes. OV also verifies your organisation, usually in 1 to 3 business days. EV is the most thorough check of your legal identity, usually 1 to 5 business days.
