Your Motherhost account is where you manage everything you have with us: domains, hosting, email, SSL certificates, invoices, payments and support tickets. You can log in from the Motherhost website or go straight to the client area at my.motherhost.com. Both use the same email address and password.
Motherhost will never ask for your codes or passwords. Our support, sales and other teams will never call, email, text or message you to ask for a one-time code (email or SMS OTP), your account password, or any hosting, email, server or domain login details. Never share these with anyone, even if they say they are from Motherhost. Learn how to spot fake Motherhost calls and messages.
Log in from the client area
- Go to https://my.motherhost.com/login.
- Enter the Email address you registered with Motherhost.
- Enter your Password. Click the eye icon to show the password if you want to check what you typed.
- Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Click Log In.
You'll land on your account dashboard.
Log in from the Motherhost website
- Go to www.motherhost.com.
- Click Sign In at the top right of the page, then click Sign In again in the menu that opens. This takes you to the Secure Client Login page.
- Make sure the Log in tab is selected.
- Enter your Email address and Password.
- Tick the box to agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy.
- Click Login.
You'll be taken to your account dashboard at my.motherhost.com. Your name now appears at the top right of the website. Click it at any time for Dashboard, My Profile or Log out.
Enter the sign-in code (new location)
To protect your account, we ask for a one-time code when you log in from a location you haven't logged in from before, such as a new country. Logins from your usual location don't need a code.
- After you enter your email and password, choose how to receive the code:
- Email me a code sends it to your registered email address.
- Text me a code sends it by SMS to your registered mobile number. This option appears only if a mobile number is saved on your account.
- Enter the code in the Code box.
- Click Verify & Log In.
On the Motherhost website, choose Email or SMS under Send the code by, click Send code, enter the code and click Verify and continue.
The code can take a minute or two to arrive. If it doesn't, check your spam or junk folder, then click Resend code. We also email you a notice whenever your account is accessed from a new location. If that login wasn't you, change your password right away from My Profile → Security.
Log in with two-factor authentication
If you've turned on two-factor authentication, you'll need your authenticator app as well as your password.
- Enter your email and password at my.motherhost.com/login and click Log In.
- Open your authenticator app (for example, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) and find your Motherhost entry.
- Enter the 6-digit code shown in the Authentication code box.
- Click Verify & Log In.
Accounts with two-factor authentication must finish logging in at my.motherhost.com. If you log in on the Motherhost website (for example, during checkout), you'll see a message asking you to do this. Once you're logged in there, go back to the website and continue your order.
Tip: If you haven't set up two-factor authentication yet, we recommend it. Log in, go to My Profile → Security, and click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
Forgot your password?
- Go to https://my.motherhost.com/forgot-password, or click Forgot password? on either login page.
- Enter the Email address you registered with Motherhost and click Send Reset Code.
- Check your inbox for an email from Motherhost with a reset code. It can take a few minutes to arrive, so check your spam or junk folder too.
- Enter the code in the Reset code box.
- Enter a New password of at least 8 characters, then enter it again in Confirm password. Use a mix of upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. The strength meter shows how strong your password is.
- Click Reset Password & Log In.
Your password is changed and you're logged in to your account.
Customers from our old client area
We've moved to an upgraded client area. Your services, domains, invoices and account details have all been moved over, but your old password doesn't work on the new system. If you see the message "Your old password no longer works on our upgraded system", click Forgot password and follow the steps above to set a new password. You only need to do this once.
Haven't verified your email or mobile number yet?
If your account hasn't been verified yet, you'll be asked to verify it the first time you log in:
- Verify your email address: enter the 6-digit code we email you and click Verify email.
- Verify your mobile number: log in again, then enter the code we send by SMS.
After both are verified, you can log in normally.
Still can't log in?
- Make sure you're using the email address you registered with Motherhost.
- Passwords are case-sensitive. Check that Caps Lock is off.
- Turn off any VPN or proxy, then try again.
- If you see "This account has been blocked", contact our support team.
