At Motherhost, your website, email and personal information are yours. This Privacy Center explains, in plain language, how we handle your data and the rights you have over it. For the full legal terms, read our Privacy Policy.
Our privacy commitments
- We don't sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, data brokers or anyone else.
- Your data is stored in India. Your account data is kept in our database in India (Mumbai region), and your website files, databases and mailboxes are stored on our servers in India. Some partners, such as payment and messaging networks, may process data outside India only to deliver their service. See section 11 of our Privacy Policy.
- We collect only what we need to provide your services, bill you, support you, and meet legal requirements.
- We protect your data with encryption, access controls and monitoring. If a data breach affects you, we'll inform you and the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
- We never ask for your passwords or one-time codes. See Motherhost will never ask for your OTP or password.
Your privacy rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection law, you (the Data Principal) have the right to:
| Your right | What it means | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Know what personal data we hold about you | Much of it is in My Profile in your account. For a full copy, email us. |
| Correction | Fix data that's wrong or out of date | Update your name, phone and address in My Profile, or email us. |
| Erasure | Ask us to delete your data | Close your account, or email us. |
| Withdraw consent | Take back consent you gave, as easily as you gave it | Change your notification and cookie choices, or email us. |
| Grievance | Complain about how we've handled your data | Email us. We resolve grievances within 90 days. |
Some data must be kept even after you ask for deletion. For example, tax law requires us to keep invoice records, and domain registries need registrant details while a domain is active. We'll tell you when this applies.
How to make a privacy request
Email privacy@motherhost.com from the email address registered on your Motherhost account. Tell us:
- which right you want to use (for example, access, correction or erasure)
- your Customer ID, which you'll find under My Profile β Security
We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act, so that no one else can request your data. We'll never ask for your password or a one-time code to do this.
