As the account owner, you can remove a delegate at any time, for example when a staff member leaves or a project with a developer ends. You can also use these steps to cancel an invite that hasn't been accepted yet.
Remove a delegate
- Log in to your account at my.motherhost.com.
- Click your profile icon at the top right, then click My Profile.
- Click User Management.
- Find the user in the list and click Remove Access.
- In the Remove this user's access? box, click Remove Access to confirm.
The person loses access to your account immediately, and they're removed from the list. They won't receive account emails from you any more.
What happens to the removed person
- They can no longer see or switch to your account.
- Their own Motherhost login keeps working. Removing them only removes their access to your account, not their login or any account they own.
- Anything they did while they had access, such as orders, payments or tickets, stays on your account.
You can invite them again later if you change your mind. See Invite a delegate to access my Motherhost account.
Extra security steps
If you're removing someone you no longer trust, also:
- change passwords for anything they may have seen directly, such as FTP, database, email or server passwords for your services
- check your Support tickets and My Invoices for recent activity
- check My Profile β Email History for emails sent to your account
Only want to limit what they can do? You don't need to remove them. See Change a delegate's access level.
Are you a delegate who no longer needs access? Ask the account owner to remove you.
