You can change your Motherhost account password at any time. To protect you, we send a verification code to your email or phone before the new password is saved.

Motherhost will never ask for your codes or passwords. Our support, sales and other teams will never call, email, text or message you to ask for a one-time code (email or SMS OTP), your account password, or any hosting, email, server or domain login details. Never share these with anyone, even if they say they are from Motherhost. Learn how to spot fake Motherhost calls and messages.

Change your password

  1. Log in to your account at my.motherhost.com.
  2. Click your profile icon at the top right, then click My Profile.
  3. Click Security.
  4. Under Password, enter your new password in New password. It must be at least 8 characters.
  5. Enter it again in Confirm new password.
  6. Under Send verification code via, choose Email or SMS. SMS is available only if a phone number is saved on your account.
  7. Click Send Verification Code.
  8. Enter the code we sent in the Verification code box.
  9. Click Confirm & Update Password.

You'll see Password updated. Use your new password the next time you log in.

Asked for a second code? If you've been logged in for a long time, we may send one more code. Enter it in Confirm & Update Password to finish.

Forgot your current password?

You don't need your current password to reset it. On the login page, click Forgot password? and follow the steps in How to Login to Motherhost Account.

Choose a strong password

  • Use at least 12 characters, with a mix of upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Don't reuse a password that you use on any other website.
  • Don't use your name, domain name or business name.
  • Use a password manager to create and remember strong passwords.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication for extra protection.

This doesn't change your hosting or email passwords

Your Motherhost account password only logs you in to your Motherhost account. Your Plesk control panel, FTP, database, email mailbox and server passwords are separate, and you change them in those services.
